Location
Allemans du Dropt:- is our local village, just a 3 Km
cycle ride away, here in the pretty village square with
its ancient plum market can be found the family run
Hotel L'Etape Gasconne where you can enjoy excellent
food and local wines at lunchtimes or during the
evening, all at very reasonable prices.
In the village, there is also a bakers, post office,
pharmacy, small supermarket, tabac, craft shop and
tourist information office.
In the local area there are also many good auberges
and restaurants ranging from locally produced good
value food and wines to haute cuisine something
for all tastes. Pigeonnier in Allemans du Dropt
Miramont:- is just 9 kms away, there is a lively market held every Monday morning which is well worth a visit, also the town has a major supermarket situated on the outskirts of the town and a good range of other shops in the town centre.
Marmande:- Twenty minutes by car in the other direction is Marmande, this is our nearest large town, it has a very interesting market on Saturday's and others during the week.
The town has two cinemas, a museum and many good quality shops and restaurants, the mainline railway station has a direct service to Bordeaux and is the ideal way to travel for a day trip to explore the city.
