Bergerac:

Large town on the Dordogne, daily flights from London Stanstead,Southampton and Bristol. In addition to it's wines, Bergerac is an important tobacco growing centre and in the old town you can visit both the tobacco and wine museums.

The town comes alive in the summer months bustling with many visitors and tourists, it is very busy at the Saturday morning and Wednesday (all day) markets and it also has an excellent choice of open air cafes, bistros and restaurants.

Duras:

With a spectacular chateau overlooking the Dropt valley, this picturesque town is well worth a visit.

In the summer months there are various events held in the town, such as a wine fair, antiques fair, night markets and a hot air balloon festival, there is also a lively market on Monday mornings.

St Emillion:

Best known for it's wines, St Emillion, is also a beautiful medieval town and a World heritage site.

From the tourist office, you will be able to take a guided tour

of the underground monolithic church built by the

Benedictine monks in the 8th century and from

the top of the bell tower in the town, you will be able to enjoy

the splendid views across the famous vineyards.

Wine lover's can arrange tastings and tours (also at the tourist office)

St Foy la Grande:

This busy town on the river Dordogne, (the furthest East of the Bordeaux wine appelation) has a bustling Saturday market and an excellent choice of restaurants
